I want to express gratitude to all of those who came to the Community
Good Friday and the Community Easter Sunrise Services. We were blessed
as we met together to celebrate our Lord’s death and resurrection. The
60th Annual National Day of Prayer will take place
Thursday, May
5, 2011. Millions will unite in prayer at thousands of events from coast
to coast. The theme,
“A Mighty Fortress is Our
God”,
is based on the verse from
Psalm 91:2
which states: “I will say to the Lord, my refuge and my fortress, my God
in whom I trust.” (Taken from the Kansas Family Policy Council web page

There will be events all over
Kansas where hundreds of people will gather to pray for
our nation, state and cities. There will be a large event in Wichita in
the center of
the city at Century II Kennedy Plaza Outside from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. that
will feature corporate seasons of prayer and praise.
There will be an event at
Topeka that will include worshiping all day in the statehouse and
holding a one hour gathering from noon until 1 p.m. I have signed up to
be a part of this effort and invite everyone who will to come to the
Wesleyan Church to participate in this event from 7 till 8 p.m. We will
not have great singers or speakers, but we will gather to pray for our
nation, our state and our own community of Miltonvale. Printed prayer
guides will be provided. There have been many answers to prayer across
the state since communities have joined together in prayer. This is not
a denominational effort. It is a response to the great needs in our
nation and communities. Come on May 5th and join in prayer
for a breakthrough into spiritual victory. |
