The attitude
of faith is contrasted by the attitude of disbelief. We used to call
one who does not believe in God an infidel. Today we rather call them
an atheist. Being an atheist must be a very frustrating way to live.
Who do you thank for the good things, blessings, health, etc that come
our way if you don’t believe in God? I believe in God even when things
go bad. Faith in God will hold us steady when everything else is
crumbling. |

Adrian Rogers whom some readers
have heard on the radio or TV gave a devotional thought. He said one
day he was making a call on a businessman with a friend. This dear man
of God began giving his testimony of how the Lord saved him, but then he
said something that really shocked him. Pastor Rogers was speechless.
The man said, “I used to believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and
that He was buried and rose again, but I don’t believe it anymore.”
Pastor Rogers said he stopped dead in his tracks. Then with a smile on
his face, the man continued, “I don’t believe it anymore. Now, I know
it!” Oh, to go from believing to knowing the Savior. What a change of
thought! What a change of heart! What a transformation! When we choose
to believe and have faith in God, He reveals Himself to us in assurance
and hope. You choose to either believe or refuse to believe. “Without
faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him
must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek
Him” Heb. 11:6. |
