What Does It Mean To Be Saved?

The subjects of sin and death, repentance, heaven and hell are not preached by many preachers today.  I heard one preacher say he never preached on negative things.  How can we be saved unless we realize we are lost?  Sinners aren’t saved because they go to Church.  They are saved by faith in Jesus, the Savior of the world.
I believe it is impossible for us to comprehend how much God loves mankind.  He is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) so He loves you just as He loves me.  He loves the sinner though He hates our sin.  It is impossible for us to comprehend how much God hates rebellion and sin.  Disobedience to God (sin) brought suffering, pain, death and every evil thing that there is and ever has been in this world.  The devil tempted Eve and she disobeyed God and died spiritually and the penalty of spiritual and physical death is on the whole human race.
The Bible teaches that eternal hell is the final punishment for Satan and all the unbelieving (who do not believe on Jesus as Savior).   We cannot comprehend the horrors of eternal hell and will not need to if we trust in Christ.  Jesus died to save us from eternal hell.   He died on the cross and rose from the dead to pay our penalty of death and hell, and believing this, turning from our sin and asking His forgiveness, brings freedom from guilt and the penalty of sin. He gives us His peace and His presence in our lives and we know we have been saved!  Glory Hallelujah!  You can know Jesus saves too, if you will turn from your sins, ask Him to forgive and believe Him to do it now! (Acts 16:31)
