Happy New Year!

Just a few days and we will enter 2012. Another year is in the history book, and we face another year of the unknown. As we reminisce over the past 12 months, there are accomplishments and failures, joys and sadness. We have bought and sold made profit or suffered loss. So life goes on. I look at our children and youth and I am delighted and surprised to see how they have grown "up." We older folks don't seem to change very much except maybe for a few pounds, the color of our hair or the parting thereof.

There are some changes that need to be taking place in all our lives. We should be growing to be better persons. As believers in God's plan for our lives, we are given a promise that is sometimes delightful and other times difficult to understand. Paul writes in Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." That purpose is found in the next verse: "to be conformed to the image of His Son." Each day we should be more like our Savior. "WWJD" is the abbreviation for "What would Jesus Do? Let us resolve this year to do as He would do, treat others they way He would and be like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in all our actions and attitudes. Let us live like Him in our daily lives. Let us strive to truly be followers of Jesus.
