Who’s To Blame

           I have been shocked by the murderous evil that lies in the heart or mind of some individuals.  The heartless, horrible murder of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and of five others, and wounding or injuring 14 other people has shocked our nation.  People are studying why and how such an unthinkable thing could happen.  People are trying to access the blame as to who caused this bizarre behavior.  It seems to be a placed on the right or left depending on the viewpoint one might have.  Liberals point to conservatives and the blame game goes on and on.

            I have an answer.  In Jeremiah 17:5, 9, 10, Jeremiah writes:  Thus says the Lord … "The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?  I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.

            Then there is the Devil who cannot destroy God so endeavors to destroy God’s creation.  The Bible describes him as: enemy, murderer, liar, adversary, deceiver, etc. He is even documented to possess people.  In many places of the world they truly recognize and confirm that people can be and are possessed of demons.  I am not to judge, but in the NT Jesus cast out demons different times.  I am not accusing Jared Loughner of being demon possessed.  I do know God’s word teaches us that there are two forces in this world: Almighty God and Satan.  Jesus said in John 10:10 (NLT) The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.  People have become demon possessed through rebellion, dabbling in the occult and various attitudes and practices.  The devil is out to destroy every one of us and the only save place to be is forgiven by Christ, totally surrendered to Christ, be a part of a believer group for prayer and encouragement! Don’t rebel but surrender to Christ today!
