Why Go to Church? (Part 5)

Today Sunday July 17th, as usual I went to church.  It had been a very exhausting week working on the church painting project in the extreme heat and humidity. Sunday is a day of worship.  It is the "Lord's Day" as I understand the Bible.  I am always grateful for this best day of the week.  I was surprised and delighted to have Rev. John Betters and his wife Yvonne, from Alaska come in and sit beside us during the Sunday School hour as we listened to a powerful lesson on Revelation 11.  I asked him to give us an update on his ministry in Alaska and was so uplifted to hear what God has and is doing through this dear man. We sang about the faithfulness of God and our hearts were blessed.  Yvonne's  sister Marian Graham, home from Czech Republic,  shared how  God is using her ministry in that very sin darkened nation.  She is having a great influence for our Lord there and we were blessed by her report
A man stood to thank God for the relationship that he and his family began when they sought and found Christ as personal Savior in their home a year ago July 17th.  I prayed and asked God's blessings on everyone there and upon our whole town. I gave a short message on Attitudes That Make a Difference, and then gave a benediction. We visited together with those in attendance and most stayed for a birthday/anniversary celebration meal. I went home with a happy heart, refreshed and renewed in spirit for the week ahead. What a wonderful day! What a wonderful way to spend it.  I worshiped God and was blessed by His presence and the fellowship of Christ followers.  That's why I go to church.  I Pray that everyone in Miltonvale and the surrounding area will attend church regularly! It will make a difference in your life!
