Confidence vs. Doubt

A healthy self confidence is a good thing when one is humble enough to recognize that others have helped us become what we are.  Being able to say: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Php. 4:13 is a healthy thing.
To doubt is to be undecided or skeptical, to lack certainty.  Doubts can be divided so as to see some are good and some are bad.  Doubting is part of the method of discerning.  One has honest doubts and researches to find the definitive answer.  Doubting is also a method the devil uses to make us skeptical of God and finally an unbeliever.  Doubting is also a choice.  Because of man’s limited knowledge, understanding and blindness to spiritual realities he is tempted to doubt that there is a God.  You and I can choose to believe in and use electricity (and computers) although we do not understand how it works.  The list is long of things that we use, but wouldn’t know how to fix them if they failed.  Some people doubt God because they can’t understand how.. or why.  Paul says in Romans 11:33 (NKJV)
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
Confidence is the assurance and security we have in God and His word.  Proverbs 14:26 “In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence…”  “And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.  For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.” 1 John 3:19-21.  Do not continue to doubt God.  He is real He can give you forgiveness of sin, peace and confidence of His salvation.
